Pilot Requirements

  • Must be able to proficiently speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Must hold at least a Private Pilot's License.

Required Tests

  • FAA Written Exam
  • FAA Oral Exam
  • FAA Practical Exam

Overview


An Instrument Rating allows a pilot to fly under IFR conditions. A pilot will spend the majority of training "under the hood" or flying in IMC conditions with a CFII. Instrument students will learn IFR navigation, communications and approaches.

Hour Requirements

  • Must have at least 50 hours of logged cross-country time.
  • Must have at least 40 hours of instrument time.
