Pilot Requirements

  • Must at least have a Commercial Pilot's License.
  • Must pass a 2nd Class Medical Exam.
  • For a CFII Rating, the pilot must already be a CFI.

 

 

Overview




A CFI is a Certified Flight Instructor and a CFII is a Certified Flight Instructor who can teach instrument students. A pilot applying for his/her CFI Rating must be able to fly from the right seat of an aircraft. A large portion of this license entails demonstrating understanding of the human learning process.




Required Tests

  • FAA "Flight Instructor- Airplane" Written Exam.
  • FAA "Fundementals of Instructing" Written Exam.
  • FAA Oral Exam
  • FAA Practical Exam
